For the last several months, I have been toying with the idea of learning to make videos. Nothing fancy, just homemade stuff, and certainly nothing that requires a hollywood budget or anything elaborate. I’m too busy to really take up another hobby, but I was thinking that it would be neet to turn our old family movies into digital files for my mom one of these days, for example. Or to offer “web commercials” to my web design clients. Or to chat with long distance friends. Or for any number of other reasons.
So, after much procrastination, here is my first attempt at making a video. I chose something simple – a song with lyrics, and pictures which I hope convey the message of the lyrics. The song is called “What a Piece of Work is Man” and it’s from the Hair musical soundtrack. Hair is one of my favorite soundtracks.
Just something funny I realized while I was writing this up… I have read the manuscript, and have every song in the soundtrack memorized, and I have seen the episode of Head of the Class where they show small excerpts from the musical, but I have never actually seen the musical. Yet, I love the music with a passion. Go figure.
